As Part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Development Bank of Ethiopia donated 5 Million Birr to Mekedonia Home for the Elderly and Mentally Disabled. Management Members and Staff of DBE visited the Center on December 9, 2018 located around Ayat Condominium site, in Addis Ababa and had a lunch with around 2000 beneficiaries of the center. The president of the Bank, Ato Haileyesus Bekele, in his remark reaffirmed that the Bank will continue its support to the center by coordinating its employees and customers.
Ethio Telecom has transferred over 74.7 million birr to Mekedonia: Home for Elderly and Mentally Disabled. The money was collected through Short Message Service (SMS) for the last three years. The luncheon ceremony was held on Sunday at the center at the presence of Chief Executive Officer the telecom Frehiwot Tamiru and other company officials. Meanwhile, the telecom also pledged the center free of charge services.
First Lady Mrs. Zinash donated 15 wheelchairs to Macedonia. After the visit the Premier has called upon all Ethiopians to extend supporting hands to the needy.
Total Ethiopia took the initiative of supporting Mekedonia by donating different types of clothes worth of more than 200,000 Birr and 100,000 Birr in cash for the construction of the new Elderly and mentally disabled centre. In addition to today’s donation previously, Total Ethiopia had different donations in kind and in cash to support the goals and objectives of Mekedonia.
